Stage Door Vixen

Attached are a few sketches showing the evolution of an idea... Though to tell the truth, this particular Idea didn't seem to evolve much at all,.. nor can I recall exactly why I first sketched it out back in 89, Probably one of those Comix projects that went nowhere... I Do recall going to the library to check out samples of Toulouse Lautrec posters and being somewhat disappointed at the few samples I turned up...

But getting back to the pix in question... The first two were done at about the same time,.. the 2nd one adding in a bit more background detail plus of course that all important stage door...

The third pix was a reworking of the 2nd for the Cover of Bunny Tales (The QT Fan Club Pub) The narrower format of the cover enabling me to render the vixen at full figure...

And finally there's this month's calendar which started with a loooonnnnggg search for just the right sort of back ally brick wall and doorway that I had in my mind... Well I never did quite find it... But in a bit of serendipity I did chance across the wall used in the calendar and almost didn't take the shot because of poor lighting and conflicts with a foreground lamp pole and such... however after a bit of retouch work it seems to have serviced fairly well...

For whatever its worth, this Feb's cal was actually intended for the previous year,.. but I ran out of time before it was finished, so we ran the Valentine Calendar from the year earlier, as it had only been seen previously in my old folio on Compuserve... JQ
