As I thumbed through Sham’s case book, I found it stuffed full of cryptic notes, old laundry lists, several mash letters from Miss Marple and a note from someone at the Continental Agency who’d neglected to sign his name... There was a Mugufin Spotter's Guide, Instructions for deciphering Japanese Purple and German Enigma Codes, a crank letter from someone named Yamamoto, threatening to bomb the Peoria Dockyards, Several photos of J. Edgar Hoover wearing a pink frock, a list of J.D. Rockefeller's numbered bank accounts, FDR's home phone number and a crumpled Map to the Treasure of the Sierra Madre... Nope, nothing useful there - Not a scribble concerning Kittens! Although “The Strange Case of the Hooker with the Really Big Knockers” looked interesting... I bookmarked that one to peruse later...

In the drawer under the casebook were several well-thumbed pulp magazines and dime novels... I pulled out one, “Bronco Bunny in: Makeout at the OK Corral.”

From the look of the cover, this was a bunny I could sink my teeth into... I leaned back, took another swig from the office bottle and read...

“Bronco gasped in surprise and dismay as her guns, holster and other bits of clothing hit the ground... ‘No, not that, Oh Pleeeessseee..!’ She moaned in anticipation as...”

The phone rang - I picked it up - It was the Landlord inquiring about last month’s rent... and the month’s before... I agreed something needed to be done about it - Hung up and regretfully slipped the dime novel back into the drawer... Time to get back on the case...

Oh Well, Might as well Follow up on the Kitten...
