March 2014Well, here it is March... Seems last year about this time it was March... The year before it was also March... an' the year before that... In fact, for my whole life (and for some time before) every year at this time, it's always March... and I AM GETTIN' DARN TIRED OF IT!! I say, let's mix the months up a bit - how 'bout we try having August follow Feb - back up to April and then zip straight into December an' Xmas - skipping all that shopping advertising! Y'know, mix em' up, let's see how it works - it might be better - 'cause doing things always the same way, just gets tedious... March, of course, is named for Ares, the god of War (though we use the Roman spelling, because no one back then wanted to mess with the Romans!) The best known feature of March is the "Ides" (Thanks to Shakespeare and a certain unpleasant incident that occurred about 44 BC) "BC" of course, means "Before WebComix"... While an "Ide," for you who may be wondering, is a small crawling creature that lives on Oatmeal, Marzipan or Mars Bars and can sometimes be found inhabiting the folds of an unwashed toga... Thanks to this aforementioned Unpleasant Incident, March is also the approved month for back-stabbing... Currently the Rooskies are stabbing the Ukrainians in the back (or at least in Sevastopol)... While the Neo-Repuplicans seem to have been slacking off, they haven't stabbed the Prez in the posterior for several days now... Maybe they're just all waiting for Baseball season, which has little or nothing to do with March (other than Spring Training) So we won't mention it here... Speaking of other things that have Nothing to do with March: Bunz and Katz, who are featured in this month's calendar - and also in my ineptly produced web comix... You can read all about it here, at: Bunz&Katz.com Bunz, it seems, is reading up on her World Destroying homework, while Katz is kibitzing, or perhaps just reminding her that he's hungry... Which is why they'll soon be toddling off to the botulism begrimed Hot Dog Stand... Notice how I keep slipping these li'l plugs in here an' there? Uh Huh... JQ |
