March 2010Way back in 2008 we did a Dino-Chic Calendar... (Jan 2008 - if you want to check her out in the old calendar section). And she proved so popular (I think maybe one or two of you liked her), we decided to do another Dino-Chic calendar... Same Chic - different Dino... Um... I think it's the same Chic -- It's hard to tell, She does have a somewhat different outfit -- sort of... And "what may be the logic of a Chic hanging out in the Jurassic?" - you might be wondering. (Or conversely: What would a Dino be doing in the Neolithic?) And I Say: Hey, why should Frank Frazetta have all the Fun? I Like to draw prehistoric Chix too! An' I mean, every dang month, it's another Bunny calendar - I get so tired of all those Bunnies! I need a break now and again!!Okay - Sorry 'bout that outburst...For those of you taking fashion notes: our Cave Chic is tastefully garbed with the latest (for 180 million years ago) in saber toothed leopard furs - her pearls are from giant mollusks of the great Nebraska Sea - and she's accessoried in hand beaten golden bangles... While her spear shaft is of sturdy yew, tipped with that technological marvel of the age, the Folsom point (firmly tied in place with hand woven catgut strands)... Yes, and with her faithful (though rather peevish) Sauropod, she cuts the definitive fashion statement for the Mesozoic - or any other time...So... I think that's about it for March... Next month is Easter - which probably means more Bunnies again... WhooBoy!Meanwhile in the Cutey Zazzle Store - seems there's some new 3D T-Designs - just the fashion statement to wear to the latest 3D movie... Uh Huh -- Yup... JQ A Note about the Calendars - since the Beginning, Macs and Windows machines have used different Gamma settings (Win box Monitors at 2.2 are generally a bit darker) which is why, up until recently, I've prepared two sets of calendars, a Mac one and a slightly lighter version for Windows... Well, as of OS 10.6, Apple finally conceded the issue and from this point on, at least the Macs running current and future versions of OSX will also have their gamma set at 2.2 -- As such, I thought that I might as well discontinue making two versions of the Calendars... Perhaps some of you who use them, might write and tell me how they look on your machines -- they might look a tad light on Macs running older versions of OSX, but not critically so... |
